Outreach 2008

All things bacon! 

Bacon works very hard to spread the message of FIRST though-out the year. Here are some of our outreach events of 2008:

  • Robots In Action!
  • Exploding Bacon has partnered with the Orange County Library System to bring our program “Robots in Action” to many of the 14 branches of the Library.  The students brought robots, big and small, all over Orange County.   Our target age group was middle schoolers.

An Enduring Community Relationship

Our library presentations in 2008 were just the beginning. Over the years we have worked many events within the Orange County Library System, to build a strong FIRST presence to people of all ages in our community.

  • Melrose Center for Innovation & Technology: Grand Opening, 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Anniversary Celebrations, Robotics Days, and Tech Talks
  • Annual LEGO Contest judging
  • Co-Hosted FLL Jr Expo for many years
