STEM Advocate

Exploding Bacon students work to keep our government representatives aware of FIRST and the importance of supporting STEM in our communities. We send them emails, meet with them in person when possible and support the advocacy efforts of FIRST in Florida and other Florida teams as well. We promote FIRST and STEM online, with our stellar presence on our numerous social media accounts.

Each year we invite our local and state officials to join us at the Orlando Regionals, so that they can see the benefits of exciting STEM programs in person.

In 2024 our students were able to visit the Florida Capital. They talked to senators and government officials about the need for a STEM grant and showed off our robot for the season.
